Types Of Mind

It is important that we learn to identify the mental states that are gentle and those who are not. Those who disturb our peace of mind, such as hatred, jealousy and attachment, are called delusions, and are the main cause of all our suffering. We may think that the blame for our problems are others, lack of material resources or society in which we live, when, in fact, are our own altered states of mind. The essence of the practice of Dharma and the main objective of training in meditation is to reduce and ultimately eradicate altogether our delusions and replace them with peaceful and virtuous states of mind.
